Lawyer for the Client Law Unit

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Legal Department is a national department at the Swedish Prison and Probation Service's headquarters. The department is responsible for directing and driving the authority's work in legal matters, providing legal support to all levels of the authority, issuing opinions to various review bodies, making initial and reconsideration decisions in client cases, representing the Swedish Prison and Probation Service in legal processes, and handling compensation claims that do not fall under other authorities. Additionally, the department is responsible for the authority's advisory national legal readiness.

The Client Law Unit fulfills the Legal Department's responsibilities within the client law area. The unit's sections for general client law are now seeking a lawyer to be based at the regional office in Malmö. The Legal Department applies the option to sign remote work agreements, which means that up to 60% of the work can be done from home.

QUALIFICATIONS

In your work, you make correct assessments and priorities by weighing complex information and solving problems. You see the big picture, analyze, and consider the larger perspective.

We are looking for someone who has:

• A law degree or a legal university degree
• Several years of experience in legal work
• Experience in case management and making administrative decisions within some part of the legal chain
• The ability to express yourself well in spoken and written Swedish

It is an advantage if you have:

• Experience in making administrative decisions that are intrusive against individuals
• Experience in legal advice and training
• Experience working with legal issues within the Swedish Prison and Probation Service
• Notary qualification
• Specialist knowledge in relevant areas of law for the position, e.g., administrative law, criminal law, and procedural law, or regarding corrections legislation
